Kitchen Tools
My Wusthof is my absolute favorite kitchen tool, and the one I couldn't live without. There are other brands, types sizes and weights, and everyone's preference is different. You should try holding some knives at the store before purchasing to see which you like.
The Classic 8-inch Hollow is the one I have.
If you enjoy soups, especially with beans, get an Instant Pot! There are different sizes and options available, but this is the one I have. The only feature that I use other than pressure cooking is the "saute" feature. It allows you to cook everything in one pot. I often cook with dry beans which is a big time saver! I use my Instant Pot about three times a week!
My old salad spinner broke and as usual, I started reading reviews on different brands to find the best one. This was also the biggest one I could find without going to a commercial model (which I thought about!). You can get the same one but with a plastic bowl and it is a little cheaper. I really like the stainless steel and I am very happy with this product.
With the kids home from school, we go through a lot of peanut butter. I like the organic brand from BJ's which is a very large jar that is difficult to stir. This knife works like a charm! I'm so happy that I came across this item!
The Vitamix is another favorite of mine. They are expensive, but if you talk to almost any Vitamix owner, we will tell you that they are worth it. I also have the dry container for mine which is great for making flours. My machine does not have the center dial, only the high-low switch. I would definitely recommend getting one with the dial.
Just when I thought I was done buying appliances, I realized that I needed a food processor. This is the model I have and I'm very happy with it. It is especially useful when making items like "meet-balls".
There are other brands and models, so do your research and find the one that best suits your needs.
My husband Chris said "if you are posting your favorite appliances, you'd better post your wine bottle opener!". Yes, it does get a bit of use in our house. This is not the exact model that I have but mine is just like it and it works great!
Sometimes you just have to kick back and relax! Cheers!
